The easiest way to incorporate color in decorative painting designs in Highland Park is with paint, starting with the walls. It will give you that over all rich color that you fell in love with. Typically I pick the lightest color for the main part of the walls and use the darker or brighter colors as either an accent wall or accents in fabric or other accessories.
Take the picture to the paint store and select several colors that appear in your inspiration piece. Design note: I usually start looking for paint color at the craft store not the paint store. That is because they have a wonderful display of small inexpensive bottles of hundreds of different colors and you can easily mix colors together to get that perfect custom color.
After you make samples boards to test the colors for your home, made your choice, it is time to purchase the paint and get painting.
Start with one wall in one room, paint that wall with one of your colors. This begins to give you the feeling of the inspiration color. Perhaps that's enough, go ahead and add that same color throughout the room and you might have just the feeling you want with only an accent wall. If not go ahead and use more paint throughout the room and possibly use it as an accent color in other rooms.
This is about using paint and color as a way to bring joy into your home. Don't be afraid to play with color, after all if you don't like it you simply paint over it.
