Mold and mildew can cause unsightly stains on your bathroom ceiling painting in Riverwoods, bath and shower stall, walls, ceilings and countertops. They can also cause a sour, unpleasant smell. But they’re not just unpleasant to smell and see-they can also be dangerous. However, steps can be taken to ensure that mold in the bathroom is kept to a minimum. Here are a few tips for keeping your bathroom sparkling clean and mold-free.
Mold can be unsightly, unpleasant to smell, and dangerous to your health. Follow these tips, and you should be able to reduce the amount of mold growing in your bathroom.
Air out your bathroom. Mold thrives in a sealed-in, humid environment. To prevent its growth, turn on your bathroom fan and make sure you open windows and doors after you take a shower.
Mold and mildew thrive in dark areas. Prevent their growth by turning on your lights when you shower, and leaving them on for ten or fifteen minutes afterward.
Close your curtain. This will allow it to dry out more quickly and reduce mold growth.
Keep your surfaces dry. Make sure puddles of water are not left on your bathroom floor, shower or bath.
Keep your drains unclogged. Clogged drains can slow or prevent drainage of your shower or bathtub.
Use mildew-resistant paint. These paints inhibit mildew growth while providing a glossy, attractive finish.
Clean with bleach. Use a mixture of one part bleach or bleach-based cleaner to five parts hot water, and scrub your bathroom walls, bath and shower, and countertops with a stiff-bristled brush.
